Welcome to Your Assembly Guide

Thank you for choosing the Fabric Bed Frame. We know that putting together your new bed frame might feel like a big job, but don’t worry; we’re here to make it as smooth and stress-free as possible. Our designs are engineered for ease of assembly, and with the right steps, you’ll have your bed fully built and stable in no time.

What’s in the box?

• Headboard (or split headboards, depending on your order)
• Side Rails
• Footboard
• Centre / Cross Support (if applicable)
• Slats or Storage Mechanism (for Ottoman-style beds)
• Legs / Feet
• All Fixings: bolts, washers, nuts, etc.
• Assembly Tools: typically an Allen key or spanner

Make sure you lay everything out and check against the parts list before you begin. Having a clear workspace helps; prefer a large, flat area with enough room to organise components.

Important Pre-Assembly Tips

1. Read all instructions first: take a few minutes to familiarise yourself with the steps before you start.
2. Two people recommended it: especially for larger beds or storage (ottoman) bases, it’s safer and easier with help.
3. Don’t overtighten screws initially: start by loosely fastening everything, then tighten fully once all parts are aligned. This helps prevent misalignment and makes final adjustments easier.
4. Tighten in stages: once assembled, return after 24 hours to recheck bolts and fasteners, and then again periodically (e.g., every few months).

Step-by-Step Assembly Overview

Here’s a general guide to assembling most of our upholstered bed frames. (Note: depending on your exact model, e.g., ottoman, divan, high headboard, the process may vary slightly.)

1. Attach the Legs / Feet
   • Screw in the legs or feet to the headboard and footboard using the supplied bolts.
   • Ensure they’re secure but not fully tightened yet, so you can make small alignment adjustments later.
2. Connect Side Rails to Headboard and Footboard
   • Align the side rails with the brackets on the headboard and footboard.
   • Use the supplied bolts, washers, and nuts to loosely connect them.
3. Install Cross / Centre Support
   • If your bed has a central support bar or cross-support, fix it in place now.
   • Make sure it’s level and positioned correctly before tightening fully.
4. Fix the Slats or Storage Base
   • For slatted beds: place the slats across the frame, spacing them evenly.
   • For Ottoman / gas-lift storage beds: install hinges, gas-lift arms, and internal structure per the diagram in your PDF.
5. Final Tightening
   • Once all major components are in place, go back and tighten all fixings securely.
   • Use the supplied tool (allen key/spanner) to finish off screws.
   • Avoid overtightening to prevent stripping bolts or damaging the frame.
6. Check Stability
   • Gently shake the bed frame to ensure there’s no wobble.
   • Recheck bolts after a few hours of use and re-tighten if needed.

Safety & Use Guidance

• Use a suitable mattress for your bed type: weight limits may apply (especially for storage beds).
• Do not stand on the frame during or immediately after assembly.
• Maintain your bed: recheck bolts every few months to preserve stability and durability.
• If your bed has storage (ottoman), make sure the gas-lift mechanism is functioning properly before placing heavy items.
